@ Zion Lutheran Church - 212 S. Front Street
This year we will be joining Zion Lutheran for vacation bible school.  A free meal will be served at 6:00 p.m. and the program begins at 6:30 p.m.  Bring all the kids and the neighbors' kids for a fun week as we "discover the qualities that make us truly heroic in God."
Join us on Friday, July 7, at 7:00 p.m. when the Dayton Dragons take on the South Bend Cubs at Fifth Third Field.  This has become an annual event for First and never disappoints (win or lose -- a good time!).  Tickets are $14 each. If you have any questions, contact Dave Stephenson or the church office.

Community Outreach
New Partner Churches and Community Groups are welcomed and needed. In order to continue serving the community a lunch every Saturday, and to begin serving homeless children through Family Promise, we need help. Call the church office at 896-5683 for information.  We will come to your church or group to talk about this wonderful opportunity to be God's hands and feet in our community

Community Lunch Every Saturday - With the help of our partner churches we serve between 200-300 meals every Saturday to our guests.  Volunteers and new partner organizations are always welcome.

Family Promise of Butler County - On May 21st we will once again be hosting families.  They will be at First for the entire week.  We are always looking for volunteers to help prepare meals, meet with families, and set-up in preparation of their arrival If interested contact the church office.

Did you know?

In 2016, 8,608 people were served hot,
homemade meals on real china at the
Saturday Community Lunch.
That's an average of 165 people each week.
Since we encourage our guests to truly be
filled by offering seconds, thirds, fourths,
and take home meals - that came to 15,504 meals
for an average of 293 meals per week.
In addition to tummies being filled, spirits were filled as 2411 people attended the worship service that is held during the lunch.
1318 volunteers (many who are there every month, or even several times a month) shared their love of God and their love of others by helping prepare and serve meals and clean up afterwards.
